Hi, everyone, we'll be driving to Vienna from Prague (where we live) in a couple of weeks. We'd like to visit Schoenbrunn Palace, and it would be easiest to drive there on our way in or out of the city. Does anyone know what the parking situation is like there? The website has no information. I'm assuming there are no lots, but is there available street parking? Thanks in advance!
The Tiergarten has a limited amount of parking by the south entrance. I don't know if you can access the Hofgarten from this lot, otherwise you can pay to enter the Tiergarten and cut through there.
Some underground stations have park and ride, but I don't know which ones. This could be another option. Perhaps our regular correspondent from Vienna knows more...
I found this link - http://www.apcoa.at/parken-in/wien/schoenbrunn.html
I am also aware of a large parking area at the back of Schonbrunn near the Gloriette.
On our recent sojourn in Vienna , we spent some time in Hietzing , just on the western edge of Schonbrunn and the Tiergarten . I recall a few carparks right in that area . Sorry I can't be more specific , but look at the area around Maxingstrasse and Hietzinger Hauptstrasse and see if anything works for you .
Emily's post is the only reasonable choice. Finding a spot for parking on the street is a tedious task in that area.
Nevertheless, if you pass Schönbrunn palace on your way from/to Prague, you should possibly get an update for your navigation system. :-)
Thank you all so much for your help!
