What do you think about this two-week Italy/Austria/Germany itineary?

Hello. Must of the trip would be in Austria, so I'm posting this here. I would fly from Miami to Milan in early June (after the national holiday on June 2):

  • Day one: Fly in. Get TIM SIM card. Evening activity
  • Day two: Duomo Di Milano, Santa Maria delle Grazie (to see Last Supper painting)
  • Day three. Rent car. Drive to Chiusa
  • Day four. Drive to Adolf Munkel trailhead. Do day hike. Return to hotel
  • Day five. Drive from Chiusa to Lago di Braies. Do hike, then drive to Heiligenblut (right outside Grossglocker High Alpine Road start)
  • Day six. Drive the Grossglocker High Alpine Road. Drive on to hotel in Krimml.
  • Day seven. Krimml waterfalls day hike. Return to hotel
  • Day eight. Drive to hotel near Wolfsklamm Gorge.
  • Day nine. Hike gorge, return to hotel.
  • Day ten. Drive to Tegelberg (Germany) area. Check in hotel
  • Day eleven. Tegelberg cable car day hike (cable car up, hike down). Return to hotel
  • Day twelve. Drive to Munich. Return rental car
  • Day thirteen. Munich
  • Day fourteen. Fly back to US

Three main questions:
(1) Is this feasible for early June? For what it's worth, I have lots of experience traveling and driving in foreign countries, doing these busy itineraries.

(2) Can you recommend any specific hotels in these places based on your experience? I prefer comfortable, clean, mid-range hotels. Food services (including dinner in the hotel would be a big plus). Absolutely no hostels or dirty budget hotels. I'd prefer to stay under $250 a night, and preferably under $200. If that's not realistic, just tell me.

(3) Am I missing any must-do hikes/outdoor activities. It could be a day hike, a viewpoint, a scenic drive, or anything in nature really.

Thank you for your input!

I haven't hiked or driven in Europe, so others will be in a better position to help you. However, I think you'll be paying a very large international-drop surcharge if you pick up a rental car in Italy and drop it in Germany--hundreds of euros.

I agree. There are also more restrictions in Italy when you rent a car than in Germany, so that might hinder you as well. I would definitely return the car in Italy before heading to Germany.

As you see from the itinerary, I would be going to Austria first, then Germany. I am aware of the drop fee. I'm willing to pay for the convenience of having a car the entire time.

Your itinerary is well planned, but very busy. Also, do bear in mind that Alpine weather is fickle and you should have Plan B's in case of bad weather.

you will need to get an IDP) aaa.com/IDP) for every driver. ($30, 2 passport size photos, receive same day. internationaltravelpermits)
glad to see you are aware of the car drop off fee from country to country. friends of mine rented car in paris, drove to french basque region then to barcelona. they were really shocked that the fee was $1000. happy to hear you're okay with convenience/cost.
booking.com
put you city/town village in and dates. filters on left side, make sure has parking. many serve breakfast and look for restaurant nearby
it is high season with supply & demand. let people pick their own hotel that they are content with at your low budget. good luck
