We will be doing a day trip to Werfen to see the fortress and ice caves. I booked the fortress tour at 10:00am so we can do the falconry at 11:15. Any suggestions on timing of booking our ice cave tour in the afternoon? I want to be reasonable on the time it will take to get to the ice cave after visiting the fortress. We will not have a car. Not sure if there are taxis or what is the best route between the two. Thanks!

I have been to both places but by private car, thus I don’t have practical experience with the public transport options in Werfen.
There is a shuttle bus from Werfen to the Eisriesenwelt visitor centre. Refer to the following link and select public transport.

You could walk in about 20-30 minutes from the castle to the departure point.

They are running on a tentative schedule but you need to call at least an hour before the ride.
