Walking the Salzburg Lakes, Salzkammergut

My wife and I are active seniors and are planning a 7 or 8 day walk in the Salzburg Lake District. Please give us some suggestions regarding the must see towns and attractions on this summer adventure.
Thanks, Bruce L.

It's a beautiful area. We stayed more near Ramsau and hiked over there so I'll just comment on the one thing we did near the lakes:

You should absolutely do the touristic thing where you take the boat on Konigsee to the old onion dome church. If you're feeling frisky, there's longish hikes back to town.
Also in Konigsee, there is the JennerBahn gondola that takes up most of the way so you can access various alpine hikes or just hike down to the massive parking area (HAVE ACTUAL COINS for the pay machines before you park if you're driving)

Our absolute favorite dayhike was up past Wimbach Falls (Wimbachklamm) to the alpine hut for lunch. If you just want to hike through the falls gorge, you can just do that quick hitter. If you continue up to the hut, it becomes a bit of a slog up a continuous incline, but the payoff was IMO pretty great. There must be another trail to that hut because we met mountain bikers there.

Alltrails is a good source of ideas. There are TONS of AWESOME dayhikes around there.
