Hi,
We are planning to visit Mauthausen Memorial from Salzburg tomorrow. We are looking at travel options, from what I found out - take train to linz and then regional train to Mauthausen. Are there any other options like bus? Also how far is memorial from train station?

From the bahnhof in Mauthausen , you can take a taxi to the memorial . The staff at the memorial can call for one when you are ready to return to the train . The ride is , as I recall , fairly short , perhaps three or so miles

We were thinking of walking till memorial from station, looks like a hour by walk. Also any idea for alternate options to reach Mauthausen?

You could walk , but consider that you will be doing a fair amount of walking while seeing the place. In addition , The " Stairway of Death " which you should definitely traverse , is trying under the best of circumstances . It is hard to imagine what the inmates were subjected to , and under conditions that were absolutely inhuman .

Rent a car. That will give you enough time to also see the Wilhering church.
