Hello, we are planning on driving from Salzburg to Hallstatt mid-November (on a Friday). I understand parking is a huge issue during peak season. Will parking be challenging during mid-November? We are only staying for the day.

Why dont you take he train? Or a transfer service? (what I did from Hallstatt to Salzburg a few weeks back).

We would like to also take a drive through the mountains; stop at some lakes, see some of the scenery.

Thats fair.
The parking when I was there didnt look bad. I suspect in November it cant be terrible. I wanted to make a couple of stops too, which is why I got a transfer. I suspect the driving is something you are looking forward to. So for someone else reading this, take a look at: https://daytrip.com/

Do yourself a favor and don't drive to Hallstatt. Drive to Untersee, park the car, and get on the ferry. That way you get a really nice boat ride and can look at the scenery instead of trying to do that while driving. Plus you don't have to worry about parking. Be advised it will be cool and probably raining.

I was there in mid-late October and there was plenty of parking (I took a train but had to walk past the parking lot to get to my hotel).
I'd estimate the lot was only about half full.
