Hello, I am planning a trip this August to Villach, Austria. From Viilach I want to go to Budapest then onto Vienna and finishing my trip in Praque. I am looking for the best trains to take on this journey. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thank you
It sounds like you aren't familiar with train travel?
Here's a well regarded site for all things train:
https://www.seat61.com
Trains from Villach to Budapest go via Vienna. So you could go Villach - Vienna - Budapest, then Budapest - Vienna - Prague.
We have done Olomouc (Czechia) to Budapest by train in one day (5 hrs 20 mins), stayed in Budapest, then train to Vienna, stayed in Vienna, then train to Sankt Viet un der Glan (near Villach), overnight in Sankt Viet then train the next day to Venice.
While in Villach, do make sure to see Hochosterwitz

To get to Prague and Budapest, you must pass through Vienna, so you can stop there on the way to Budapest or to Prague.
Trains from Villach to Budapest go via Vienna.
Not neccessarily. With one more change you can gain half an hour.
Villach - Vienna - Budapest: 8:03 hours
Villach - Wr. Neustadt - Sopron - Budapest: 7:30 hours
I would go Villach - Vienna - Budapest by train, and then take a cheap flight to Prague.
Budapest to Prague is not a comfortable train journey.
