We have a week in Vienna next Sept. Can anyone recommend a day tour company to Hallstatt? Thanks.

It would be a minimum of 3 hours one way and you would end up in a tiny village crowded with other daytrippers. Hallstatt is beautiful, but that day would be no fun.

We enjoyed Vienna Explorer's "Hidden Wachau Valley" small group tour in 2015. The company was a pleasure to deal with and our guide was exceptional.
I did notice that Vienna Explorer offers a 12 hour van tour to Salzburg - FWIW
