Vienna to Brno

I am planning to visit Brno for the day on November 21. Can you tell me how many hours do I really need to see Brno? My main visit is to see the church & the crypt under church

thanks

I strongly suggest you post your question on the trip advisor forum as there is a local expert on there from Brno who will guide you.

It depends how much of Brno you want to see. To scratch the surface 8 to 10. To get the feeling for it at least 3 days. To see just church and crypt 2 to 3 hours.

Hi,

Going to Brno from Vienna time wise is very doable as a day trip. Worth it. It was a province capital, and if you're into history, ie, Napoleonic history, you're very close to the village of Slavkov, better known by its historical name Austerlitz, which is accessible by public transportation and occupied by les français prior to the momentous battle.

The central area is relatively compact and can be walked/seen in a couple of hours and is close to the train station. There are some nice outlying neighborhoods that can be walked or take a bus to that would add a few more hours. If you like architecture at all, the Mies van der Rohe Tugendhat House is in one of those neighborhoods and open for tours. Plan a couple hours for that.
