I will be spending 3 full days in Vienna in mid April, 2024 and would like to visit several retail art galleries in search of moderate priced paintings by local artists.
Are there any recommended galleries to visit?

The Dorotheum in Dorotheergasse is the main action house and pawn shop in Vienna and one of the best in the world. Consider it as a sort of museum where items are sold directly or in auction. Particularly interesting is the jewellery shop on the top floor, items too cheap to be put to auction are sold directly (look for "Einzelstücke aus Privatbesitz", single pieces out of private property), it is easy to find very original pieces of early 20th century Viennese designs at good prices.

This was already on my list as I was advised they have some merchandise that is sold directly retail.
