Vienna restaurant with good vegan and non vegan options?

We have just learned that a young adult family friend will be in Vienna at the same time as we are there, and are hoping to have her join us for dinner. Last time we saw her she was vegan; she has long been vegetarian. I am pretty much an omnivore but would prefer not to have solely vegan options on a menu. If you know of any good options for us, please let me know. Thanks!

Actually, I'm vegan and did not have huge issues in Vienna. I was there on a Rick Steves tour so only had one dinner on my own but just ate in a regular restaurant with others from the tour. I do not remember what I had but there was not a problem finding something to eat. I would choose a regular restaurant that you would go to and check the menu to see if there are some vegan options.

If you like, I'd be happy to look at any menus you come up with to see if there is anything that would work. If they will have been in Vienna for a while they also may have ideas.

We just returned from Vienna and had no problem finding vegan food. Our favorite was Veggiezz which promotes itself as "your vegan dining room." We also had luck in Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Salzburg. Most restaurants have food options for vegans, but be sure to ask if the pasta or pizza dough is made with eggs or dairy. Same with many Indian restaurants, as yogurt is used in a lot of the sauces. Our family of six (four adult kids) usually mentions that we have a dairy allergy because some waitstaff seem put off when we mention that we follow a vegan diet.

And another thing, download the app Happy Cow. It lists restaurants worldwide for vegetarian and vegan diners.
