We’ve booked our flight that allows us 9 full days of touring in September. We intend on renting a car rather than travel by train because we’d like the flexibility of stopping and going as we please. We also realize that our itinerary is very ambitious. We are flying in and out of Vienna and a stop in Passau is a must because I have family in the area. With that said, what do you recommend as a travel itinerary for our trip? What would you cut out or add to our trip? If there are smaller towns/village recommendations in between, please share.
We do not expect to use the rental car in the cities, but rather to navigate to and from our major destinations.
