Like other big European cities, should tickets (Hofburg Palace/Treasury Schonbrunn, boat, train, bus tix, etc) be purchased in advance for an early July visit. Any recs for a great old castle?

At the most popular tourist sites you will be able to skip the ticket lines by purchasing your tickets in advance. Often times the ticket lines are longer and slower than the entry lines. Plus, some sites have timed entery requirements necessating the need for advanced purchase.
