Vienna Peace Museum

Hi all,

Has anyone experience or knowledge on the Vienna Peace Museum? It appears from my research that it is really a walking/window exhibit near Stephenplatz. So I assume we walk by, stop and read about the peace heroes and move on to the next til we walk past/through them all (or as many as we like).

How much time should we allocate and are we missing something?

Thanks!

Melissa

Ok, one of my friends is on the board for the Peace Museum and I haven't even visited it. I would not consider it a major tourist site, but if you are walking by...

Much more interesting than that is the slightly bizarre teddy bear museum near Stephansplatz. It's in a Flatiron-type display window and is free to stop by and check out. A collector with a sense of humor has set up a massive diorama of bears.

Emily, do you know where that is? I can't find a location for it by Googling.

I think I know what you are talking about. It is not a museum but the window display of a furniture store. It is on Rotenturmstrasse between Lush and Zanoni & Zanoni.

More fun for the kids would be the Haus Der Musik, Haus des Meeres, Schonbrunn zoo, Kindermuseum, parks....

Hi all,

Many thanks for your inputs...and humor! We are walking by, but I do like the idea of talking about peace... give it a chance. ;)

We will also be on the lookout for the teddy bears. And we do plan on house of music.

Thanks so much!

What ages are the kids? Give me some details (what time of year) and I'm happy to steer you in the direction of some kid-friendly attractions, parks and places to eat. I've got loads to share.
