Vienna Pass Advice

My family(wife and two young girls) and I will be in Vienna for a few days. I saw advertisement for the Vienna Pass. Has anyone tried this service? Is it a good idea/deal? Any alternatives? Thanks in advance for your help!

For any of the tourist passes- you really need to do the math.
Make a list of sights you will use it for- add up the costs, transpo vs savings etc- only you can decide if it is worth it.

We spent 4 days in Vienna and just bought a multi-day tram/metro pass then paid for sights as we went. I found that to be the most economical and we did do all the major museums/palaces, etc.
We used the combo ticket for Kunsthistoriches/Treasury and Sisi ticket for Schonbrunn/Hofburg

IIRC the Vienna Pass had a lot of stuff included that was not really useful to us- HOHO bus maybe?, discounts at various stores/restaurants, etc.

The official travel-plus-discounts card is the Vienna Card, not Pass (https://www.wien.info/en/travel-info/vienna-card). This may be worthwhile if you are visiting a lot of museums, as they have quite high entrance fees, but you need to calculate carefully to see if it's worth it. The other travel options are the eight-day ticket (eight days of your choice, not necessarily consecutive) for 38.40 euros, the week pass (one Mon-Sun calendar week ONLY, not any seven consecutive days) for 16.20 euros, and the 72 hour ticket for 16.50 euros.
