My husband and I are going to be in Vienna from 9/28-9/30. I have read that one way to hear the opera is from outdoors but I am having trouble finding out how to go about doing it this way. Please help! Thank you!

You can try this website. It does list September as one of the months but you'll have to check for actual dates in Sept.

There is a big video wall on the right side of the opera building. You just walk there and watch. If you are early enough you may catch a seat.

I'm not a big opera fan, but to me the interior of the Viennese Opera House is the attraction. The decor is pretty amazing. Seeing an opera there just adds to the pageant.
