Vienna Open House

Has anyone had experience with Wien Open House and could make suggestions as to what to see? We'll likely have Friday, Sept. 25, free, but the choice is overwelming. I can limit ithe search to "innere Stadt" (we're staying in the centre) but it's worth going further afield to see somehting special. I'm a hiistorian but my partner likes modern architecture. We actually like anything interesting and beautiful. I would like to exploit the oppotunity to see things not otherwise available. Can anyone help?

It doesn't appear to be part of the open house, but if your partner likes modern architecture, then you should include a visit the the Hundertwasser House and Museum - truly unique.

Yes, that's on our agenda. We visited the Hunderrtwasser school in Wittenberg, Germany, some years ago and quite liked it.

You’ll quickly realize that Vienna is a compact city and to limit yourself to the first district is unnecessary.

I’ve participated several years. Locations change and they tend to be modern. Highlights for me included the Gartenbaukino and the Italian Cultural Center.

I just looked at the list. Some interesting choices but you should decide which ones speak to you. Again, no need to limit yourself geography. There are also none in the First.
