My husband and I are travelling to Vienna in January 2026 for ball season. We have a week in between balls and are wondering about a week somewhere warm in Italy? Looking for warm and a not too long flight from Vienna. Any suggestions for locations would be much appreciated!

Not sure what you consider "warm". We were just in Southern Italy in January/February. It was nice enough, but I'm from Minnesota and I wouldn't have considered it warm. A few times it was high 50s/ maybe low 60s. Sun makes a huge difference. Low 50s and sun is nice, for us, at least. It was rare for it to be comfortable to eat outside at night. You may also want to consider that some of the smaller towns will be quite quiet with some restaurants closed. That said, I wouldn't necessarily not go in January, its just what it is you're are looking for. You could consider Sicily for January, as well. You should look up weather averages for the cities you may be interested in.
