Vienna Hotels - Hotel Am Parkring - Anyone Stayed There, Other Recommendations

Hello Everyone,
We have looked at all the hotels in the Rick Steves book.
While cross referencing the hotels we found the Hotel Am Parking to be a good deal.
We can get a Suite for the price of a regular room rate at other hotels in the area.

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Am Parkring in Vienna ?
Thanks in advance,
Alan

I've never stayed there, but I pass it all the time. Location is good. Boring building from the outside lacking charm. I'd read some reviews on booking.com.

We are staying for 4 nights.
For us it is between NH Atterseehaus Suites aka NH Collection Wien Zentrum or the Hotel Am Parkring.
Tripadvisor ranks Hotel Am Parkring #39, gets an 8.8 from Booking.com... photos look nice.
Tripadvisor ranks NH Collection at #33 and Booking.com gives it an 8.8... photos look nice.
One is in the old town, the other is on Mariiahilfer Strasse.
Choices, choices...

Any more comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

We stayed here in 2009 and can recommend Hotel Am Parkring. The location is excellent--about a 10-minute walk from the center (St. Stephen's), across the street from Stadt Park, and convenient to the tram. Because the hotel is on the top floors of a tall building, it is quiet with wonderful views. Our room was modern, spacious, and clean with a nice bathroom with tub. There's no "charm" (like the old hotels), but it's a great place to stay. It also has its own underground parking garage, which we used for the Volvo we'd picked up in Sweden at the beginning of our trip. It stayed there the whole time since everything was within walking distance. Have a great trip!
