I am overwhelmed with hotel options in Vienna and need some suggestions. We have only one night and two full days so we want to be in the best location and air conditioning is a must. A friend who has been said I would probably prefer staying on the ring. Specific hotel suggestions or area suggestions are welcome. Guess it wouldn't hurt to ask for suggestions on how to spend our short time there while I'm at it. Thanks!
I'd recommend something in the Inner Ring near St. Stephens, or near the inner ring on Mariahilfer Strasse, perhaps near the Neubaugasse on the U-3 line. Personally, I've had great success using AirBnB. Good luck!
Try Pension Suzanne. It was recently recommended to me on this forum. It looks great, but it's a little pricey for my budget (solo) for my 3 nights. If I only had 1 night, I probably would have chosen it.
Last September, we stayed at both the Hotel Capricorno and the Hotel Des France in Vienna. Both are conveniently located on the Ring and are nice properties. One is on Schottenring and the other at Schwedenplatz.

The Capricorno was the least expensive of the two properties but had a smaller room. Both were air conditioned.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either of these properties again.
We've stayed twice for a total of seven nights at Pension Pertschy. Great location, terrific staff.
I'd also recommend Pension Suzzane. It's a very convenient area for sightseeing.
Pension Suzanne gets my vote for location, convenience, the owners are (Michael & Brigitte) are very helpful and a great breakfast.
We stayed there for 5 days during 1st week of May and couldn't have been more pleased.
