Vienna Hotel options

I am doing my homework on hotels in Vienna and am wondering if anyone has an opinion or has stayed at Hotel Stefanie. This would be our first time in the city. I’m not sure I want to stay in the Innere Stadt due to how busy I’m sure it gets (just an assumption). I’d like to be close by however and this area of Leopoldstadt seems like a good location. The Landstraße area also seems nice. Can anyone comment on this particular hotel or give opinions on these areas? Currently a room at Hotel Stefanie seems to be about $215-$230. I’m comfortable at this price, maybe slightly more depending on hotel.
Thanks!

Good hotel , and location . I stay in this hotel several blocks away ( having stayed there six or seven times over the years ) . one of my favorite hotels in Europe . Give this a look as well . Look at the ratings , it more than lives up to them - https://www.classic-hotelwien.at/en/ Leopoldstadt is the old Jewish quarter of the city , with a rich history . I love the area for a number of reasons , convenient to the center in ten minutes and calm and quiet in the evening

Thank you for your quick response. The Hotel Wien looks great and is a great price as well. I’m definitely going to consider this option.

I spent a week in Vienna in October. I stayed two blocks (long blocks) outside the Innere Stadt. If I return to Vienna, I would definitely stay inside the Innere Stadt. I think something close to St. Peter’s Church would be the best location.

Like Steven I also stayed at Classic Hotel Wien and really enjoyed my stay. The location was good - a safe area, close to metro (though easily walkable to the old center if you don't have mobility issues). The hotel was reasonably priced but amenities and staff were above the usual budget hotel. I have recommended it often and would stay there again.

I would hasten to add , that I started to stay at The Classic Wien , quite a number of years ago , thanks to Nancy's advice . One of the nicest places I've ever encountered . Bravo , Nancy , it's a real winner !

We recently returned from Vienna and stayed at Classic Hotel Wien. We originally had booked Hotel Stefanie but changed due to RS recommendations here and better location. The hotel was clean, staff hospitable and breakfast good plus had a bathtub and elevator for my aching knees. It was close to metro and tram but difficult for parking if driving. Close to couple of good restaurants. It was smaller room than
we had at other stays this trip and only had instant coffee with electric hot water pot in room. If those things don’t bother you, it’s a good choice. I would probably stay again but would also consider staying closer to Maria-Theresien Platz. Hope this helps.

I would add , to avoid confusion , that the hotel in the post just above , has a similar name as the one I recommended upthread. Certainly ,nothing wrong with it , just so no one is confused about this . They are two different establishments in different parts of the city .

I only mention this because people on the forum love to fret over the off chance (too much). You know money belts in the UK, phones on neck lanyards, flight delays, lost luggage, wars a 1000km away, 3% extra on exchange rates on a $50 exchange, migrants, the length of lines, temperatures, etc So, staying in the, or near the, Jewish quarter right now???? Personally, it's where I would stay (and Austria has done a good job of maintaining order), but .....
