Vienna hotel in July/August

I’m looking for hotel options in Vienna for late July/August. We definitely are looking for a hotel with A/C and no pet policy due to allergies. I haven’t seen the Leo Grand in discussions and wondered if anyone had experience with this location? Hotel AM is tempting but they don’t seem to have a refundable reservation option and I like to stay flexible as I’m still working out the itinerary. I’m concerned about things booking up as it is busy season (unfortunately we are traveling in high season which I generally avoid). Thanks for any insights.

Take a look at the Hotel Stefanie and the Hotel Wandl.
The Stefanie is very elegant and Vienna’s oldest hotel. The Wandl is quite close to the Leo Grand.

Would like to stay under $3000 for 4 nights 4 adults (so 2 rooms). We are also visiting Prague and possibly Berlin after some time in the Dolomites. I would like to stay in the old city center so i realize it will be more expensive. Thanks

The newcomer Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper ( just opened this year) fits the bill. It has a 9.7 rating that tops even the Hotel Bristol, the Hotel Imperial and the Hotel Sacher. it’s 450 sq.ft. King Suites are a deal.

Check in 30 July and out on 3 August
Refundable
Breakfast
(any of these, if you drop breakfast you save $50 or more a night .... but breafast anywhere else in the same part of Vienna will cost you the same .... buy maybe better).

Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper does look very nice and the location is good. (I am checking on all of the recommendations because I go to Vienna from time to time). A "Delux" room for two, 4 nights = $1426. That's not over $360 a night for a very nice 4-star in Vienna!

I am no expert on Vienna, been a few times but ..... still the Leo Grand looks like a excellent location. Love the style of the place and at $417.00 a night right in keeping with, or a bit lower than, the rates for a 4-star in the good for tourism part of Vienna.

A good basic 4-star, well located and usually a bit cheaper is the Astoria. That one comes in a $324 a night.

My favorite 5-star, the Imperial is about $940 a night without breakfast. And you dont book a room at the Imperial, you Reeseeerrrrvvvveeee.

Given the excellent public transport in Vienna, insisting on staying in the very center (1st city borough) is an unnecessary waste of money, IMHO. A/C is not so popular in Austria compared to US, but I guess finding a hotel having a no pet policy won't be easy.

wmt1, I generally stay in the center because I want to take it all in all day and all night .... till bed time. But if you could recommend other areas where a tourist would enjoy the atmosphere, walking the street, stoppiing for dinner and another stop for a drink before retiring.... that would be excellent. Cause the prices in the center are ... well ... "robust".

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have booked nonrefundable rooms at the Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper as it seemed to fill much of what I was looking for. I appreciate that Vienna is known for its public transport but I love to walk and meander at various hours so this location will be much appreciated!
