I'm soliciting opinions on places to dine on Christmas Eve. We would prefer not to have to have two extra-special dinners two days in a row (both the 24th and 25th), but the nicer restaurants in town seem to be pulling out the stops on both days. Since we would prefer to have the celebratory dinner on Christmas Day and we can take care of that reservation, can someone please recommend some options for a simpler dinner on Christmas Eve? We are in Central City near St. Stephens but of course we'll travel. Preferably Viennese since that's what we're there for. If narrowing it down more would help, please let me know what I can provide. Thank you.
If they are open on Christmas Eve, I would highly recommend Zur Böhmischen Kuchl (The Bohemian Kitchen). Reservations are a must!!! I was staying at a pension in the area and discovered this gem quite by necessity and accident. The food and ambience are fantastic, especially around the Christmas holidays.
The menu is varied and quite extensive. Prices are very reasonable - e#pecially for the quality and creativity. Try Grandfather’s Three Legged Cobbler’s Bench. On the website if you open the menu page, click on the English “Food and Drink” for an English menu.
Philip, I so appreciate your recommendations. We are checking into them now. It's kind of you to take the time to answer me. It's not always as simple as googling, since Christmas hours are not always posted as everyday hours are.
