Vienna Christmas Markets, December 27-30

Our original plan was to go to Vienna for the markets before Christmas. That has changed and we are going the week between Christmas and New Year. I'm concerned that the markets will still be open, but they may have significantly fewer vendors.

Some of those on our original list will be closed already

Art Advent - on Karlsplatz (Closed already)

Christmas Market at Schönbrunn Palace

Christmas Village at Belvedere Palace

Christmas Market on Spittelberg (Closed already)

I am asking two questions:

For the markets still open, with there be a good selection of vendors?

Given our timing, are there any other markets that you would recommend?

Thanks in advance,

George

Yes, the 2 largest markets in Budapest, including the one that gets awards almost every year, will be open to 1 January. Plenty of other things to do too. Bath houses, theater. Concerts, opera, ice skating, the lights, the food, the beauty. 2:40 from Vienna.

As you have already seen, the markets at Schonbrunn and Belvedere will still be going strong during your stay with the same vendors as before Christmas. The ice skating spectacular will also still be happening at the Rathaus during your stay, which will include food and likely other vendors.

Of course there will still be Christmas lights up everywhere.

I also believe that the Christmas market in Bratislava will still be happening until Jan. 6. Bratislava is a quick ride from Vienna.
