We're going to Vienna for the first time while the Christmas markets are on, and I've read up on previous posts about the markets themselves, but I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for what the best hotel for the markets. We're on a budget, so we are looking for a good price/location combo.

Find a hotel that suits your budget and is located in a central area. The markets are all over and easy to get to. My favorite market was in front of Charles Church. It had some very nice crafts for sale and a giant area with hay for the kids to play in. The church is very beautifully lit at night! Enjoy

Public transport is excellent and easy to use in Vienna; just get acquainted with it. Therefore the location of the hotel is not important as walking all the markets is not reasonable.
