If I purchase the Vienna Card, does this avoid skipping the line at a museum?
I never saw much of a line at any museum, palace or monument.
We were in Vienna in May, and there were not more than 3 or 4 people ahead of us in line at any museum ticket counter. A helpful TI person pointed out to us that a 3-day transportation pass plus the senior discounts at museums was a better bargain than the Vienna Card. If you're younger than we are (most travelers are, lol), it would still behove you to crunch some numbers. We have found that buying such city cards pressures us to cram more visits into the same days than we would otherwise do. Take a hard look at what is covered and at what you can and want to do in the number of days you'll have.
