Vienna and Salzburg in November

My husband and I just bought our plane tickets to visit Vienna and Salzburg over Thanksgiving week. We're still in the preliminary stages of planning what we'd like to do, but I figured I'd get started on seeking recommendations for food and drink (this has been an afterthought for us in the past, but I'd like to make it more of a focus on this trip). Specifically, can anyone recommend a cozy Heurige that will be open/festive that time of year? I'm sad we won't see them under the chestnut trees, but I'd still love to go find a warm, pleasant place to have some wine and a casual meal. Second, what are your favorite coffee houses? We'd love to spend some leisurely afternoons with coffee and a newspaper somewhere that isn't too touristy, but that still has some historic charm. I know we won't have much daylight to work with so I'm eager to nail down some cozy indoor options.

We were just in Salzburg this summer, and had lunch at Zirkelwirt. Good food and a very cosy environment. The coffee house Cafe Tomaselli is fun to try and the food was mostly good. Very expensive and crowded given its location. Still we felt it was worth the splurge to experience at least once. We had our best dinner at the Funky Monkey. Definitely make reservations before you go! We didn't, and got lucky that there was space later in the week during our stay. However we ate outside and the inside space is very small. Be sure to make ALL your dinner reservations before you go, otherwise you will end up at eh places and paying a lot of money. Rick Steve's recommendations were ok, but just check that yelp or trip advisor also agrees. Have fun!
