Vienna - Already have Sisi Ticket No wait at Schonbrunn Palace?

Hi,
I am reading through the RS guide book 10th edition Eastern Europe, "Sights in Vienna". He writes that purchasing the SISI Ticket at the Imperial Furniture Collection allows you to avoid the lines at the Schonbrunn Palace and walk right in, without having to reserve an entry time.

I looked at the Schonbrunn Palace official site and did not see this as an option.

I know things change after guidebooks are published.

Has anyone purchased a SISI ticket at another site and then used it to "skip the line" and/or not had to have a reserved time at the Schonbrunn Palace?

Having reserved times makes my anxiety go into overdrive so I try to avoid them as much as possible.

Thanks so much!

This is likely dependent on what time of year you're talking about, last month I walked right up to the museum and walked right in.

And FWIW I found it an uninteresting museum, the cult of Sisi did not interest me.

Thank you, phred,

I will be going in September, which I understand will be a busy time. It will be on a Friday, so maybe not so busy as a weekend.

I am intrigued by any place that is described as second to Versailles. A friend also recommended it. I would only be getting the SISI ticket in order to not have to get an advanced ticket/reserve your time ticket.

I really enjoyed the summer palace, the Schronbrunn, more than the winter palace in town. (I disagree with RS) Make sure you take the little transport around to explore the gardens and grounds, which are extensive. At one point you look out over all of Vienna.
For the interior tour, I thought the English audio tour was well done, about an hour, just enough.
Enjoy your trip!

Thank you Pat and Horsewoofie,

So glad I can go in whenever I want to with the multi-site ticket.

I will definitely look for the transport. I had not read or heard of that!

WienMobil app allows you to buy tickets and multi-day passes. It’s easy to use and has transportation maps.. Download it before your trip, set up your account and payment method but buy tickets or pass when you need it. The App Store has a not great rating but I had no problems.

I really enjoyed Schonbrunn, Kunsthistorisches and the Armory.
Have a great trip!!

Post edited to clarify transportation vs museum tickets.

Sorry, I think I'm confusing this with the Hapsburg palace.

There is also the Belvedere Palace, which I did visit and enjoy (although the "gardens" were anything but).

This app is for buying public transport tickets and passes, whereas all previous posts are about passes for visiting sights in Vienna.
