Vienna Airport to K+K Hotel Maria Theresia

Hello. I will be arriving in Vienna next week. Was interested in taking public transportation from the airport to K+K Hotel Maria Theresia but am a bit confused as how to get there. The address is Kirchberggasse 6. We will be two adults with two checked bags. I travel to Europe about three times a year, have never been to Vienna. Would we be better off taking a taxi?
Also is it recommended that we buy some type of train pass while we’re there? We will also be visiting Mauthausen, Bratislava and possibly another city in Hungary or Czech Republic.
Thanks in advance.

Going by public transport from the airport to your hotel is easy. Although there are different options, this is the best way, IMHO:

Take the S7 train (not the CAT) to Wien Mitte, change the to subway U3 (orange line), direction to Ottakring, alight at Volkstheater, use the exit leading to Burggasse. After having reached street level it is a walk of about 300 yards to the hotel.

There is no train pass for your planned day trips, but you should buy a 7-days public transport pass, which has two variants having different prices: 7 Days VIENNA and 7 Days Digital VIENNA. The first one you can get at ticket vending machines, the latter only online, which is preferable.
See here: https://www.wienerlinien.at/web/wl-en/tickets/7-days-vienna

If you have already the 7-days pass, you need only an add-on ticket for the ride to/from the airport.

Hi candi!

I'm also booked for K+K Hotel Maria Theresia, but in December! Per wmt1's reply, I also plan to take the S7 and transfer to the U3. According to the OBB trip planner, a single journey ticket including transfer is 4.50 € per adult, but I will also be buying the 7 day transport pass.

You can find point to point directions and live train times using the the OBB trip planner here: https://fahrplan.oebb.at/ (if it shows up in German, click Menu on the top left, then scroll all the way down to the bottom to select English).

Please let me know what you think of the hotel!

Thank you. What I’m confused about is where is the S7 train in conjunction to the subway? The 7 days Vienna ticket, is that good for seven days or does it run say from a Monday to Sunday?

When you get off at Wien Mitte, just follow the signs to the U3 entrance. Its a transit hub. If you can handle the NY subway, Vienna will be a piece off cake.

The calendar week ticket has been abandoned. The new 7-days pass can start on any day. If you buy it in advance you must enter the date of first validity.
