I flew into Vienna this evening from London. An announcement was made on the flight that due to the new EES system, getting through immigration might take a little longer than uual.
I was one of the first ten off the plane. I hurried to immigration only to find the expected long lines were......nonexistant. Six booths were manned. Five were empty when I got there. No self service machines anywhere.
I walked up to one of the officers and handed him my passport. He took my fingerprints, took my photo, and handed me back my passport. The whole thing took about 45 seconds. No more stamps.
I walked off the plane at 6:15.(1815). I was on my train by 6:30 (1830). I walked into my hotel at 7:00. Not bad.
