Vienna Advent Markets Are NOT Happening in November and possibly beyond (Edit)

Vienna Advent Markets are happening this year but with COVID-19 modifications. Locals and the very few international travelers allowed into Austria will have a chance to soak up atmosphere if they are so inclined.

We read that Zagreb is still having their market too. Dates are tentatively November 27 through Jan 3. This market was on my list, but obviously we will have to wait a year or two. Enjoy Emily, and anyone else who manager to get there.

As Austria is entering a lockdown at midnight tonight through the end of the month, the Advent/Christmas Markets in Vienna have been cancelled for November as those events violate current guidelines.

The markets are currently delayed until December, but I think everyone assumes that the current measures will remain in place in December.

Measures which go into effect at midnight tonight include a 8 pm to 6 am curfew as well as limits on gatherings. Restaurants and bars are closed except for take-away. Hotels are closed except for business travelers. Museums are closed and events are cancelled.

Thanks Emily for the update. Though it seems that the situation starts to be under control (at least looking at the numbers of the last few days) in most of Europe, there are rumors that pretty much in most of the continent the traditional Christmas markets will not be set this year because of CoViD-19 restrictions.

Towards the half of December we will see what is possible to enjoy in Europe this end of the year
