Venice to Salzburg Driving Route

We are looking to fly into Munich and rent a car and tour southern Germany and head to Italy and tour the Dolomites then continue to Venice . Then maybe driving to Grossglockner pass to Hallstatt and Salzburg and back to fly out of Munich.

We want to spend some time in Salzburg for sure. The rest of the trip from Venice to Salzburg is up in the air. We have a car so we wanted to hit the highlight. Any suggestions are helpful thanks

Hi,

Salzburg - Zell am See - Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse - Lienz - Cortina d'Ampezzo and then stay in the Alta Badia as a base in the Dolomites.

This route works in reverse of course.

Drive a few Dolomite Passes, such as the Giau, Gardena (our favorite), Sella, Pordoi, Campolongo, Falzarego, etc. These are all easily driven based in the Alta Badia.

Hi,
What time of year is your trip?
In the Dolomites we liked staying in the Alta Badia. In La Villa at the Ciasa Montanara to be exact.

We love staying in the Berchtesgaden area (a favorite of ours) for visits which includes a visit to Salzburg, which is less than 30 minutes from Berchtesgaden. We've stayed 18 nights during 5 stays there.

We can highly recommend staying at either the Pension Mayringerlehen in Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden and the Guesthouse Friedwiese in Schonau am Konigssee.
