Velden Worthersee to Prosecco Wineries

In May, flying into Vienna and seeing Vienna, Melk, and taking train out to Velden Worthersee to stay on the lake a few days. During that timeframe, I'd like to sneak down into Italy and go to the wineries in the area where they make Prosecco. Is that doable as day trip? Is there such a thing as tours from Velden Worthersee? Or can someone suggest somewhere to stay near Prosecco wine region--like a bed and breakfast? Thanks in advance.

I am no expert, but a quick google search told me that Prosecco is grown around Conegliano Valdobbiadene. That is about 3 hours drive from Velden. I highly doubt that anyone in the small town of Velden is in the business of taking people three hours away to try Prosecco. But you never know...

Velden is a tourist town. Thus, give it a try and ask the local tourist office if there is a local agency offering such tours.

As I mentioned in your other thread with the same question, there are direct trains from Velden to the Prosecco making area. That would be the fastest way to get there. Not sure if it's doable as a day trip.
