We are going on a trip through Germany starting in Frankfurt, traveling counterclockwise through Cologne, Dresden, Prague, Austria Munich, Switzerland and on to Paris. The part I'm working on now is after Munich, I'd like to find lodging somewhere in the Black Forrest region before we go to Luzern. We only want to spend two days. We have a Eurail global pass ordered and will be going by train. What would you suggest?
Fussen is nice with side-trips to Schloss Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles . Garmisch-Partenkirchen is also nice the Zugspitz is right there. You can also side trip to the 2 castles from Garmisch as well. There are regularly scheduled trains from Munich daily. these are in the Bavarian Alps region of Germany. Beautiful places!
Baden baden is good.
This is not a topic for the Austrian Travel Forum. Try to post it on the forum for Germany.
By the way, I discourage purchasing Eurail passes as they are overpriced. Eurail is targeting gullible tourists making them believe that buying train tickets is some kind of rocket science. This was true until about 30 years ago when you still needed an expert from a travel agency to book train tickets involving more than one country. Nowadays online booking is available everywhere.
Take a look of this map of the Black Forest region. Either Offenburg, 3 hours from Munich, or Freiburg im Breisgau, another hour south, would be a good choice. Both are on the IC train line down to Basel, where you change to the regional train to Luzern. The Schwartzwaldbahn circulates around the Black Forest from Offenburg.

Look at Lake Constance (Bodensee). Or possibly Basel.
Thank you all, apologies for posting this on the wrong country!
