I must be doing something wrong--I want to use a credit card to buy the Salzburg card on-line, and it takes my information and says my credit card will be charged, but it never took my credit card information and I cannot seem to negotiate the site to do so. Anybody else have this problem?

Most outfits in Europe are going to 3-D secure for on-line credit card transactions. This is like Visa Checkout, where you have to enter a 4 digit PIN you get when you register the card at Visa Checkout. Mastercard has a similar program. Also, try an American Express card if you have one. Lastly, do they take Pay Pal?
