Triple room in Salzburg?

Hi,

I am in need of a good triple room in Salzburg. Most of the hotel recommendations I have found in Rick Steves', etc. have been mostly double rooms. Ideally I would like a convenient location, breakfast, and parking.

Thanks!

Ditto your Munich request. You have to do at least some of your own legwork here

The Goldenen Ente has an apartment that would work. I'm not sure if they have parking as they are right in the old town. When we traveled with our 3 children several years ago I found that many small hotel websites didn't list rooms bigger than a double, but if I emailed them asking frequently they did have an appropriate room. It's a little more work, but worth it.

A few years ago, on a Rick Steves tour, we had a very nice stay at the Trumer Stube. It was family owned and run. Our main hostess was the owner, Marianne. She and her parents provided us with such warm hospitality. The three of them even cooked and served our breakfasts. It was located in the pedestrian old town area, a convenient walk to everything we wanted to see and do in Salzburg. My husband and I were put in a triple room that we found to be spacious and comfortable. I just found their website and it appears they may be under new ownership. The hotel name is now Cityhotel Trumer Stube, and the owner is listed as Vivienne, a name I don't recognize. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, it appears to still be a very nice hotel. The website says they have triples and quads. Breakfast is available on site, from 8 to 10 a.m., but is not included in the room rate. The cost appears to be 9 Euro per person. The website suggests a nearby public parking garage for guests with cars. Hotel guests who park there apparently get a discounted rate of 15 Euro per 24 hour stay.

I reserved a triple room in Salzburg earlier this week via Booking.com. I also needed available or very close by parking and there were quite a few to choose from.

Triple rooms are a rarity in Europe. When you combine that with your other criteria, you’ll realize something has to give. Use booking.com, select your criteria and do the best you can.
