I’ll be visiting Vienna from December 26, 2026 through January 2, 2027, and then traveling on to the Czech Republic until January 9. I realize I’ll likely miss the Christmas market season in these destinations, but I’m still really looking forward to the trip and making the most of it.
I’d greatly appreciate any recommendations for hotels, activities, restaurants, or other must-see experiences in both places during that time. Thank you!
Some Christmas markets in Vienna reopen after Christmas as New Year's markets.
The best experience in Vienna at this time is the New Year's Eve Trail, an event on December 31 in the city from 2pm to 2am.

Note that December 26 is a public holiday as well as January 1, December 27 is a Sunday, meaning at all three days all shops will be closed.
I cannot comment on Prague, having been there never at this time of the year.
My wife and I visited Vienna (5 nights) and Czech Republic - Prague (5 nights), Valtice (1), Slavonice (1), Cesky Krumlov (1) - in Aug, 2025. Though the season was different from the time you have planned, our trip reports might be useful reference:
Thank you for the tips and links - I’ll check them out.
My sister and I were in Vienna and Prague last March. You might find my trip report helpful.
