Trip to Hallstatt - Luggage storage

I will be travelling to Hallstatt from Vienna in August. I will arrive in Vienna airport (from Copenhagen, Ryanair airlines) on August 16th 11:10 pm. Rather than going to a hotel during that late night, I am thinking if it would be better to take a train directly from Vienna airport station to Hallstatt. I wanted to try spend my most possible time at Hallstatt in a day trip.

There is one train at 12:02 am (with a 2 hr 30 min layover at Linz/Donau Hbf and will reach Hallstatt at 7:25 am). So I will have around 50 minutes in the Vienna airport to board the train. I will have a small cabin bag with me during the travel which one would like to store a luggage storage facility. Vienna airport has one in terminal 3 but opens only at 5 :30 am. I am thinking to store it at Attnang-Puchheim Train Station. I will have 25 min to change trains at Attnang-Puchheim Train Station while travelling from Vienna to Hallstatt which will give me enough time to drop my bag and get on the train. But while I am returning back to Vienna from Hallstatt, I will have only 9 min to change trains (from Platform 4 to 2). Will that be enough to collect my bag and board the next train?

I saw a few options at Hallstat (https://www.bigboytravel.com/europe/austria/hallstatt/luggage-storage-and-bag-lockers/) but they either open lately (like after 9 am) or close early. There is a coffee shop that stores luggages in Obertraun but I will have to get down at Obertraun (instead of Hallstat in the morning) and also take my return train to Vienna from Obertraun. There is a train at 8:30 pm but I would be still taking the last ferry at 6:15. That way, I would have 1-2 hrs to look around Obertraun.

This is my first trip to Europe and I am very much excited about the trip, Hallstatt in particular. Like I said, I want to spend most of my day in Hallstatt and hence planning to take the mid/late night trains. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I would caution you, as you have no experience traveling when being jet lagged. Can you function on very little sleep- and in a foreign country. Also, your flight could be canceled or delayed. I would highly recommend spending the arrival night in Vienna. Your plan is just too complicated, and is risky. Have a great trip.

I guess you won't be jetlagged as you are traveling from Copenhagen, but this is still going to be an unpleasant day/night with lots of time in train stations.

I've been to Hallstatt twice, it is beautiful, but I can't see going to this much trouble.
If Hallstatt is the most important thing to see, maybe you should cut something else so you can actually enjoy it.

That long layover in Linz during the wee hours is not very appealing. But there seems to be another problem: In the timetable of the ferry which connects Hallstatt town with its train station, for certain times there is an annotation 1) meaning on school days only. August 17th is a Saturday and not a school day. Additionally, in Austria all schools are closed during July and August for holidays.

Maybe it would be better to choose another train connection arriving two hours later in Hallstatt, i.e. departing from the airport at 4:24am with a layover of half an hour in Vienna and a layover of nearly an hour in Attnang-Puchheim, i.e. time enough to find the lockers and store your baggage. I guess it is more comfortable to spend the time between arrival of your flight and departing in an airport lounge, compared to a train station. (If you have a first class ticket of OeBB you are entitled to user their lounges at big train stations; check the opening times.)

But while I am returning back to Vienna from Hallstatt, I will have only 9 min to change trains (from Platform 4 to 2). Will that be enough to collect my bag and board the next train?

If the trains are on time it shouldn't be a problem. The train station in Attnang-Puchheim is not big, the platforms are elevated, i.e. there is an underpass for changing from one platform to another and leading to all facilities. You know already where the lockers are.

Thank you everyone for your inputs. I tried to include too much in less time but as per your suggestions, I have decided to spend the night and go to Hallstatt next morning.

At 8:10am there is the only direct train from Vienna to Hallstatt (IC 1018).
You could leave your baggage in the lockers at Vienna's main train station.
