Traveling to Salzburg from Venice via train

Has anyone done this trip taking the connecting train from Venice at Innsbruck? From what I gather, this route is longer but more scenic. Is the scenery "worth it" as it seems like a long trek.

It may be a bit longer than via Villach, but it has more frequent trains and the scenery is really great(on both routes).

It's a long journey and ideally I'd make a day of it and break the trip for a few hours in Innsbruck or Bozen or some other nice place.
