Traveling to Hallstatt in February

Hello,

Just want to get some opinion on traveling to Hallstatt in February. I'm taking both of my parents. We are also doing Vienna and Salzburg. We have a hotel reservation for two nights in Hallstatt but I'm not sure if it will be worth it. If not Hallstatt, does someone have a recommendation for a similar size/atmosphere town near salzburg I can take them too?

Thank you!

Hallstatt is a lovely, picturesque little town, which can be easily visited as a daytrip from Salzburg. Staying two nights makes sense only, if you want to see more than the town (e.g. salt mine, ice cave, etc.). Make sure to check what sights are accessible at that time of the year. It is difficult to predict how the weather will be, i.e. how much snow you will have to expect.

Although Hallstatt is an incredibly beautiful small town, I'm not sure it will be entirely pleasant in February. There could be snow and overcast skies and it could be cold, so be sure to pack accordingly.

If you were planning to visit the Salt MIne, these are the hours and prices.....
