Travel from Innsbruck to Fussen without a car?

Hello

Does anybody have any info on how to travel from Innsbruck to Fussen without a car?

I could get any info out of the OBB or DB nav apps, but rome2rio says there's a bus to Reutte and then one to Fussen, but seems there only two per day.

do you mean soon or in the future?

If you are looking for travel soon the reason things are messed up is because of the fatal train crash 2 days ago near Garmisch Partenkirchen. Both roads and railroads are closed. SEV in operation.

Ordinarily that would be the fastest route.

When are you going?

That appears to be correct. There used to be a train from Innsbruck to Reutte, but just the 2 daily buses now, one in the morning and one in the evening. The transfer to Fuessen is not coordinated either, so there is a 1 1/2 hour wait in Reutte for the next bus to Fuessen if you took the morning bus to Reutte.

There is also a slower route to Garmisch-Partenkirchen then train and bus connections on to Fuessen, taking 3 1/4 hours with a few departures every day.

Thanks.

I don't have the exact dates pinned down, but it would be something like leave Insbruck June 19thish or 20thish, spend a night Fussen then return.

What sort of disruption is the train accident in GP causing to a route via there, and is there any indication when that disruption might be resolved?

Cheers

The details as we know them are in this current thread on the Germany Forum:

I don't think anybody is giving any details as to when everything will be swept up and made good - it just happened and there is a huge amount of work to be done.

Just as a quick side note, and not giving up any of the juicy specifics, the fact that there is not trained service in that corridor nor to some of the surrounding higher valleys makes for a fantastic tourist experience if you can zigzag and explore a little. You can get three or four miles off of that corridor into really beautiful places with nice tourist infrastructure and not hear English spoken for a week ;)
