I have already purchased all my train tickets to my final destination, but since I have never travelled in Europe, I am concerned about the 8 min transfer I have at Jenbach railway station. Is Jenbach a small station? Is an 8 min transfer manageable after arriving in Jenbach and then boarding Jenbach-Zillertalbahn? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Yes, it is a small station. You will have no problems making this change.
The Zillertalbahn tracks are grouped on a side of the station. I do not remember exactly how do you pass from a side of the station to the opposite one, but 8 minutes looks like an adequate time. If the incoming train is a few minutes late, they are probably going to hold the local train to allow the transfer.
Jenbach is the only station in Europe where tracks of three different gauges meet. The Zillertalbahn is a narrow gauge railway, the Achenseebahn on the front of the station building has still a different gauge and is still operated by steam engines.
Thanks for your help!
