Transportation from Salzburg train station to our hotel in Kajetanerplatz

Hello, our family of 6 people (3 adults & 3 children) will be arriving in Salzburg by train at 8:00 PM in early June of this year. I googled the distance from the train station to our Hotel (Apartment Kurt), and it's about 2 miles. Too far for us to walk at this hour, so I wanted to ask if there is a way that I can arrange transport - either by taxi or, if there is a bus, we would be willing to take that. We are finding it increasingly more difficult (and expensive) to reserve a van/suv big enough to fit our family plus luggage. But we will do whatever it is we need to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you so much for any information you can give me with this issue. Linda

Take 2 taxis? ( or if there is a shortage of taxis, have it make 2 trips?)

Does the hotel have a suggestion?

81-11 is Salzburg's biggest taxi cooperation with 300+ cars. There should be a van for you.

Just write them now, define your requirements, ask for the price and how to handle it.

For that trip I would just take the local city bus. Buses 3,5,6,14 or 25 will take you from the central station to Justizgebäude, a stone's throw from Kajetanerplatz. A 10 minute bus ride, and at that time of the day the buses will have frequent departures.

I did contact the hotel to see if they had any suggestions, but I haven't heard back. Sometimes it takes quite awhile for these place to get back to me. Thank you for your suggestion.

Not sure if you are aware, but in the google maps app, if you put the address of the apartment in, then click on "directions", type in Salzburg HBF or something similar; it will show possible routes for different modes of transportation by clicking the icon at the top.

Doing so shows an O-Bus 3 that goes pretty much directly there, dropping you off near the river, with about a 5 minute walk; plus other options.

Do be a bit aware that the app thinks you are traveling now, so if that turns out to be the middle of the night there, or on a Sunday or Holiday, your results may not be very helpful. You may need to put in an anticipated time and day.

I find the directions part much handier once there, but it can be used as above for planning.
