Transport from Vienna Train station to hotel

We will be arriving at the Vienna train station from Budapest.

What would be the best way to then get to our hotel?
Thank you!

Where is your hotel?
Trains from Budapest arrive at Wien Hbf, which is the new main station.
Depending on where your hotel is, it will be one or more of tram, U-Bahn (Underground) or S-Bahn (commuter rail), probably tram and/or U-Bahn.

Thank you.
We are staying at the K & K Palais. (Rudolfsplatz)
We will have probably 3 pieces of luggage so I was thinking about taxis.
Thank you again!

How many people are you?
Carrying three pieces of luggage in public transport with three people is manageable easily, with only two people it is rather tedious.

In this handy map of transport in the city centre (click here). You can see Stephansplatz in the exact middle of the city, and Rudolfsplatz above that.

If you click here you get the official city transport finder. Enter "Hauptbahnhof" to "Rudolfsplatz", and it tells you to take the U1 (U-Bahn line 1) to Stephansplatz, then either 15 minute walk or shuttle bus 2A to Rudolfsplatz.

We're only 2 people and I'd prefer to do what is easiest! And I think easiest might be a taxi!
Thank you!!!

Easiest would be to take a taxi for about 12 Euro. Money well spent, in my opinion. Taxis are metered and readily available at the Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station). Alternatively, if you are an Uber user, that works well too and the Hauptbahnhof has good, free wifi.

I've stayed at the K+K Palais. It is a nice hotel on a quiet square away from the tourist hubbub, but still central.
