Trains and buses from Innsbruck to Fussen

Has anyone taken the train/bus combination from Innsbruck to Fussen? I'm a fairly seasoned traveler and fit but I'm traveling solo so I want to make sure I am making wise choices. Here are my questions:

  1. I have the choice of a route with either 2 or 3 transfers. After the train transfer, there is a transfer at the Pfronten-Steinach station to a Bus EV and then again to bus #71. The other route has a transfer at that station to the #56 bus. Some of the transfer times are 2-3 minutes to go from the train to a bus. Are the buses very close I'm assuming? I don't want to take the longer transit time if these are easy transfers.

  2. The routes are different depending on whether I look at OBB vs. DB websites. Does it matter which website I use? I like the options on DB better.

FYI-I did look at the option RS recommends of taking the train to Reutte and then a bus to Fussen but the total travel time wasn't any better.
Thank you!

When is this?

An "EV" bus is a rail replacement bus. So that is a temporary thing.
Normally it would be train till Pflach, and bus 100 from there.

You can expect the transfers to work, and especially for rail replacement busses, which usually wait till everyone has made the transfer from the train to the bus.

Normally DB and OBB should give the same results, as they use the same database. If there is a difference something odd is on. So what is your travel date?

Thank you for the Bus EV explanation. The date of my travel for this connection is Aug. 27th.
I thought it was odd too about the OBB and DB sites showing different information. I'll double check again. I have found that due to construction, there have been some issues. For example, the time changed for one of my trains which wasn't an issue. Also, I couldn't purchase seats for one train initially but now I can.

To me it looks like the DB planner does not know about the nr 100 bus from Reutte to Füssen. If you look at a map you will see that there is a railway form Inssbruck, via Garmish Partenkirchen to Kempten that comes very close to Füssen. The best way to get from Innsbruck to Füssen is via that route, and taking the short bus ride bridging that gap. ÖBB seems to have the schedule here.

Maybe use the local planner here: https://smartride.vvt.at/

The way this works in this part of Europe is that all those planners in fact use the same software, but they each have their own database instance, and frontend. And periodically they all send updates to each other. Each decides however what they copy from the other (eg. DB apparently does not import all bus data from Austria...)

So sometimes for such cross border trips you have to hunt around a bit,
