Train - Salzburg to Zurich

We will be taking the train from Saltzburg to Zürich, and I see that there are different links you can get tickets. The IMIO link seems to offer better fares than the others for the same travel.

Is anyone familiar with that link? Is there any catch to it that I should know about? Is there any other recommendations?

Never heard of IMIO, but best place to buy tickets is usually from the company that operates the train. In this case ÖBB.

No idea what IMIO stands for.

Generally speaking, using the official rail company of the country you are in is best, but a good choice for Americans using American credit cards is Loco2.com
I've used Loco2 for train tickets in other parts of Europe--easy and same price as official sites.

IMIO used to be called Go Euro. It has the lowest prices that I have seen so far, even lower than the train site.

That’s why I wonder if anyone has used it.

No one is going to undersell the actual company operating the trains. If they are showing lower prices than that, something's fishy - avoid them.

Yes, anywhere offering rail tickets cheaper than the official site is almost certainly a scam. Some people recently have reported problems using US cards on the OEBB site, so also check the Swiss site at https://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html

have reported problems using US cards on the OEBB site

For online payments OeBB requires the "3D Secure" security feature to be enabled for Visa and Mastercard - ask your credit card issuer. American Express does not support this, so it should work without. Regarding Diners Club I am not sure.

Thanks everyone for all your feedback.

The site is called OMIO. My mistake.

I guess the price varies slightly with the currency exchange daily rates.

Thanks everyone! I booked the ticket through ÖBB and I paid in Euro’s.

By the way, there’s a train company call Westbahn.at which is good to use in Austria.

They offer prices at little bit cheaper than ÖBB. A person who lives in Austria recommended them especially for certain places like Vienna to Salzburg.

If I am going from Vienna to Salzburg, I take the Westbahn connection, which is somewhat cheaper than the ÖBB.
