Train from Zurich to Salzburg

Hi! I am planning to go to Salzburg from Zurich Switzerland in June through the Railjet RJ 161 (with eurail 1st class pass). I checked the eurail timetable and it said reservation is optional. I wanted to make a reservation though just so I could get on the train for sure but when I tried to make a reservation though the eurail reservation service, the RJ 161 isn't coming up. It was giving me other trains with longer time travel and more stops and they're mostly at night but the eurail schedule planner was showing me the morning train which is what I need to get on. Is there another way to reserve seats? Or should I just risk going to the station and get on RJ 161 in the morning without a reservation? I'm a little worried about not getting in because of the summer crowd. Thanks in advance :)

The reservation is optional. If you want it, I'd buy it a few days ahead at a train station for about $5, probably at the same time that you activate your rail pass. Or Rail Europe has it online for $12 (readily available on test date of June 10). Without a reservation, if the train gets crowded, you can still board and stand until you find a seat.

If you go the the German train website you can plug in your time and date and get your answer. Www.bahn.de

Or the seat61.com website for lots and lots of detailed information.
