Tips for genuine alpine village experience wanted!

Hello! We are trying to find a genuine Alpine village experience for a weekend stay in either Switzerland, Southern Germany, or Austria. We are living in the Stuttgart area.

Ideally a village/town big enough where we can walk around a bit, have a couple restaurants to choose from, etc. But also hoping for one of those "postcard" type views from a balcony or at least nearby.

Me, wife, three kids (5,4,2) and mother in law.

Apartments/homes are fine, as well as hotels. Pet friendly would be a huge bonus (we have two small dogs) and looking to stay under $200 / €160 a night.

Easy, right?! Haha!

Any help GREATLY appreciated.

Anywhere in the Jungfrau region: Mürren. Lauterbrunnen, Wengen or Grindelwald. Website: https://jungfrauregion.swiss/en/summer/

BTW, they don't use € (Euros) In Switzerland, it is Swiss Franks (CHF). Most tourist places will take Euro notes, and give change in Franks.

160 Franks a night per person, easy. "Me, wife, three kids (5,4,2) and mother in law." = 1 double room + cot for 2 year old + 1 double room for kids + 1 single. No way 3 rooms for 160 Franks.
The site I listed above has links to accommodation in all 4 locations.

Last year we went to Garmisch and Mittenwald, about two hours south of Munich by Train. Loved it!

In about 3 weeks :)

This is still the skiing season, especially because there is more snow this winter than in previous years.

I suggest Seefeld in Tirol, north of Innsbruck, a wonderful town with a lot of possibilities to enjoy your stay. Alternatively, you can go by train to nearby Innsbruck, go up to the Nordkette mountains with a cable car, and you will have a magnificent view (if weather permits).

We stayed at this place: https://www.booking.com/hotel/at/appartementhaus-st-martin.html
(The link is only for the description; we booked by calling the owners and writing e-mails.)

In 3 weeks? Good. Wherever you choose, go skiing (both alpine and X-country). Go snow shoeing. The days will be getting longer allowing you more time to enjoy the BEAUTY that is winter in the Alps.

I have always wanted to go to St.Veit im Defereggen, Austria as it looks like a "postcard" place. I have tried several times during Silvester, but the Stammgast have the places to stay booked out. It may be too small and too far away for what you are looking for.

A little closer to Stuttgart and a larger village with just about everything is Oberstdorf.
