What's the current tipping practice? Add any tip to a credit card, or do you need cash?

If paying by credit card, then tell the server the total amount to charge including the tip. So for a 27 Euro bill, tell them to charge 30 Euro to your card (27 for food plus 3 Euro tip).
If paying by cash, then tell the server the total amount you want to pay when you hand the cash. So for a 27 Euro bill, say you hand them a 50 Euro note. Tell them 30 and they will give you 20 back.
I would never pay with a credit card and then hand the tip in cash. That’s very awkward here. Never leave the tip on the table. Always just give the total including the tip. Don’t tip more than 10% - just round up.
