Tickets to Vienna Boys Choir

We will be in Vienna in May and I see that the Boys choir performs for mass at the Hofburg chapel during the mass. Is it necessary to buy tickets to go to mass? Or do you not get a seat if you don’t?

Thank you for your replies. That is very helpful! Should I be buying tickets for this and the Spanish Riding School now or wait until we are there?

You want to buy the tickets well in advance as these performances sell out.

Seats are sold on Friday on the official website or at the box office. The cheapest ones have no view (anyways, no one sees the choir and orchestra since they perform from the organ balcony... But they come to the chapel at the end for an encore...)
There are also 60 standing tickets, those are free - you need to come around 8:15 to secure a good spot!
